TMPGenc frame server pack v1.401 is now available
Finally after a long period of hard work our new software is released. In this new version we add support for Premiere Pro v1.x and TMPGenc Xpress. Next to that, our video server plug-ins now supports frame server over network. So this enables our users to render the video in (e.g. Premiere or Xmpeg) on one computer and (MPEG)encode the video on the other machine. This process is completely automated and therefore is very user friendly. Just share the frame server file (IPCserver.AVI) trough the standard Windows file sharing, and the rest is handled automatically. The plug-ins support multiple network cards (e.g. Gigabit, fireware) in one computer so a fast Gigabit point to point connect works perfectly.

11/21/2004 Beta testers requested for new network engine !
Finally we got the new network engine working. In our test lab the basic functions work fine. As this was a very challenging new feature, we would like to test it on as many machines before releasing it. Therefore we would invite you to our beta test team. If you are willing to test this new feature, please contact us. Filling in a simple contact message can do this. We plan to start testing within 1 or 2 weeks. Most of the code is rewritten with the goal to create more plug-ins and support many more programs. Therefore it took so long to create this new version.

11/23/2003 Stability update. All software is updated !
Today a new version of the following software is released:

This time no features are added in the software. All changes are bug fixes and increased compatibility with editing software. This bug-fix release solves all known problems including the problems registering the v1.0 plug-in on some systems.
With the introduction of the v1.0 software, the registration key is stored in a different format. When you first launch the software with the new key format, the key is translated into the new format automatically. As a result the old software does not recognize the key anymore. Therefore you cannot mix old and new version of our software on your system. So you do not have to request a new key if the key is not older than 1 year (Basic package) or 1.5 year for the Professional package. So your old key can be used to upgrade the software.
Premiere Pro Video Server Plug-in:
Due the many changes with the introduction of Premiere Pro in plug-in interface, we decided to developed a totally new plug-in for Premiere Pro. The plug-in is almost finished, and we expect to start beta testing the plug-in this week. In the current version I was not able to detect any bugs, so I expect that is beta tests will not take to long (2-8 weeks). Customers who ordered a Professional package in the past can use the Premiere Pro plug-in without any extra charge. For customers who ordered the basic package in the past (< 16 November) can upgrade their registration key for 10Euro to the Professional package on request.

11/02/2003 Bug Fix & Good news for Adobe Premiere Pro users:
The new AVIwrapper codec v1.0 seems to have registration problems on some systems with multithreaded applications. If the v1.0 plug-in reports that it is registered, and you receive registrations errors when opening the IPCserver.AVI file, please upgrade your aviwrap.dll file in the system32 directory. A new version can be AVIwrap.dll v1.001here .Please note that you can NOT mix software version on you system (so e.g. Link2 v0.9 and Premiere video server plugin v1.0)
Today I succeeded in solving one major problem with Premiere Pro and the Premiere video server plug-in. The alpha version is now able to frame server video. The rest of the problems should be solved relatively fast. If you interested in beta testing, please send an e-mail with the subject “Beta testing Premiere Pro”.
Update: Because we do not want to jeopardize the stability of the plug-in, we decided that make a separate plug-in for Premiere Pro and keep the separate version for the other versions of Premiere , Flask, Xmpeg, DVDx, MPEG mediator. It seems that a lot of bug work a rounds conflict with each other. There we have re-write a complete new plug-in for Premiere Pro. So this will take a bit more time…..

For a long time, people have requested us to create a Video Server Plugin for Ulead Media Studio Pro v6.x (MSPro) that will enable them to use their preferred encoder (like TMPGEnc, CCE or Ligos) with MSPro. Of course we acknowledged that this is a very interesting tool and started looking for a way to implement this plugin. After a long period of hard work, we are happy to report that we have succeeded to create a working version of the Ulead frame server plugin. At this stage the plugin is successfully tested with many encoders and are on the virge to release the first beta version.

Today I released the AVISynth extension plugin. This plugin extents AVIsynth with new optimised routines. This plugin can be found in the Avisynth package which is present in the download section.

07/19/2002 New version : Link2 v0.95
Today I released a new version of the Link2 program. This new version has new features and bug workarounds for some programs like Premiere. The new optimised color space conversion routines run about 300fps on a Duron 1Ghz while they still are ITU-R BT601 compliant. Of course the trial period is restarted with this new version. Before I forget, you can find the new version in the download section.
New:
- Introduced highly optimised MMX2/SSE/3DNOW color space conversion
routines. (Tested CPU s: AMD Athlon, AMD Duron, Pentium 3 and 4)
- Fixed rounding bug for calculation of the frame rate.
Sometimes the frame rate was not calculated correctly from the wrapped AVI. This could cause that CCE would not read the wrapped AVI as the frame rate was not supported.
- Workaround for multiple instance Premiere bug (now you can open
different wrapped AVI files inside Premiere)
- Fixed GUI bug
Now the menu is displayed correctly when using a non default font size.
- Added a file overwrite check. (can be enabled/disabled)
- Fix the Cancel bug.
Now the next Wrap is performed correctly after aborting the
the previous one.
- Changed the full speed trail length from 30sec to 1 minute.

Update: I got one report that the Trial period check is a bit too over active on some systems. Beside this, I received a mail that there are problems when you open 2 wrapped avisynth files in e.g premiere. Currently I am checking this. If I can confirm the problem and have a fix, I will release a new version. Please post problems in the forum. I will try to fix all those problems in the next release.
This program is designed to add additional input formats to programs who can read AVI files. This program adds a new input engine to the existing programs. It also feeds the video/audio through the already implemented AVI interface. Currently my program is designed in such a way that it adds support for Avisynth, Virtualdub frame server files and AVI files with and without compressed audio. So this tools enables you to e.g. read Avisynth files in any program that reads AVI files (Like
Premiere, CCE SP, Ulead Media Studio Pro )
Common applications: (Check the guides section)
-Import Avisynth scripts in any program that reads AVIfiles.
-Enables frameserving from Virtualdub to any program that reads AVIfiles.
-Enables to read MPEG/DVD with random access in any program that reads AVI files.
The tool is tested width CCE SP 2.64/2.62, Premiere, Ulead Media Studio Ligos MPEG suite, Windows Media Encoder v8, Cleaner 5.
Update of the WRPR codecs:
The package of Link2 includes an new version of the WRPR codecs. This new codec has many bug workarounds for video encoders. So this version is more stable than the codec included in the video server package.

If you are using Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 I highy recommend to download a security fix from Microsoft. In the unpatched version of Outlook 5.0 the attachment may be automatically executed. For information about removing an already executed virus see here.

The mail is enabled since the 1st of May. But the account is still under attack by the viruses. I hope those people will install the Outlook patches and a virus scanner. Will they never learn.... So I expect to reach my maximum transfer within 2 weeks. If the e-mail address is disabled again, I will post this on this page
And now the good news: The Link2 program is finished. Currently I am creating the documentation for it. If the documentation is finished I will upload the final version of the program. You can already find some unfinished guides for the tool in the guides section.

Due the recent virus attack on my softhome.net e-mail, this account is disabled. If everything is O.K. it should work again on the 1st of May.
Because many people have my e-mail in their address book and do protect them against viruses, I am flooded with viruses. This is generating so much traffic that they disabled my account..

It has been a while now since we have been writing a news on this page.
So it is maybe time to say that videotools is still living.
Since the release of the video server 0.93, we have been very busy in changing our server to offer clear access. Also, we are develloping a new service for the registered users of the video server. This is now beeing released in the next few days.
Maybe you noticed a new look for the web site, and some changes during the passed year.
Edwin and I have been working a lot on this site, and we found a bunch of new problems, mostly due to the growing number of downloads that you are requesting everydays.
Anyway, now there is more to come and Edwin is on a new tool that is really gonna be amazing ! ... We are announcing the Link2 program.

I just released a new version of my plugin and it comes with a new installer created by Silly Guy (You need administrator rights to install it running NT4,W2000,XP). The main enhancement of the plugin is that the wrapper server is totally re-written and also is able to export audio. This version is tested for 3 weeks by the beta tester team with Adobe Premiere v5/6, Xmpeg, DVDx and MPEG mediator. Most popular encoders are tested :TMPEGenc, CCE SP 2.62, Windows Media Encoder v8 running W98, ME, NT4, Windows 2000 and XP. I recommend that you always use the wrapper server mode as so many people have troubles using Avisynth. If you still run into problem with the wrapper mode, please check the FAQ and follow the guide to test the wrapper codecs. If you still run into problems, please post your question in the forum. Bugs can reported to me with a detailed description of the problem, used system and programs and what you are trying to do with what settings (text only) Together with the plugin I also released some guides that can be found in the guides section. Of course rmvos also released some new guides for my plugin on his site.
There seems be some confusion between this pluginand AVIsynth. This plugin is a standalone programand does NOT use AVISynth to export your video (soyou do not need to install it). It has only theABILITY to export data to AVISynth. I hope thissolves many misunderstandings. PS. Could someone give me a link to some sample source code/info /SDK for a plugin for Ulead Media Studio (Pro). This would help implementing a video server plugin for this program.

I just created a forum for our software. I will visit the forum a least ones a day, to answer the English questions posted there.
If you are upgrading your Premiere server plugin to version v.92, you may run into problem with the settings in Premiere. The problem with the settings only occurs when my old plugin was installed in Adobe Premiere.(Adobe feeds the old settings to the new plugin) Currently I am testing a fix for this, that will be present in my next release of the Premiere Server Plugin. The main new feature of the new release will be the audio support for the much more stable wrapper servermode. A temporality solution for the setting problem with adobe Premiere would be to rename the prm file to an other file name with the extension prm.

First I want to thank everybody who pointed out bugs in AVIsynth and the Premiere Video Server Plugin. This enables us to solve them. All bug fixes that are proposed, are added in the new release of AVIsynth (Dissolve, StackVertical, ShowFiveVersions).
Currently I am working on audio support for the wrapper server mode, and hope to have a working beta soon. As I noticed that it is hard to create software that runs with all the Software (Premiere Vx.x, FlasK x.x, Xmpeg x.x, DVDx) and operating systems with different hardware I am looking for some beta testers that are willing to test my software and write detailed problem reports. Mails with it is not working are not helping me...... So if you want to test the software before it is released and are willing to report problems to us, please send me an e-mail with your area of application and system(s).
As you may have noticed, more and more sites run into financial problems. It is very hard to run a popular website without any funding. So please consider a donation.

Update: I noticed a bug in the random access code of version V0.91 . So I recommend that Premiere users use v.90. I am currently fixing the problems. You can expect an update soon. Please report problems if you find any. Also I am still looking for some beta testers for Premiere v5.x and v6.x. Mail me if you are interested. Update: Fixed the bugs. Please try the new v0.92 preview and let me know if you still run into problems. Update: Released a new Premiere Video Server Plugin V0.92. Get it in the Download section. Fixed bugs, and change some filenames. Please read the readme.txt before installing the plugin! I have just released my new video server plugin. It has some nice new features that enable you to create 2 SVCD compliant MPEG streams in one go. For better support for CCE SP, an audio encoder, 2:3 pulldown, and muxer with cutter is added to the plugin. This makes the manual post-processing steps for creating SVCD's with CCE obsolete. So start the encoding process, wait, and drag your HQ SVCD files into NERO.

I am still reading all my e-mails, but because the number of mails becomes high (30 a day) it is not possible for me to answer them all. Because some people donated for my work, I will stay with the present philosophy. Instead of crippling the software for unregistered users, it will pop-up an annoying window. The more features that you use, the more annoying the pop-up window will be. I am also about to release a AVISynth v1.0 beta 5 soon. Again a number of bugs will be fixed in that version. PS. Could someone give me a link to some sample source code/info of an AVI audio codec. This would help implementing audio support for the AVIWrapper server mode.

The new video server plugin is tested with Premiere v5.x/v6.x and FlasK. If you still run into problems, please let me know. But remember, please disable the DirectShow filters within TMPGEnc before you start reading the AVIsynth scripts in TMPGEnc.
If you like my server plugin please donate on the Kagi server, and do not force me to cripple the plugin even further for unregistered users (or even STOP programming....). I do NOT like the registration feature at all. But there seems to be no other way. P.S. the very few people who have already donated will receive a key by e-mail within a few days...
I have just tested my new video server with FlasK. It runs >0.5 real time on a Duron 800Mhz while transcoding a DVD to SVCD with CCE SP v2.62. Now it is time to develop a better and faster YV12 scaler and remove the last bugs of AVIsynth .......

am asking a donation to keep me motivated and this site running.
I have just tested my new video server with multipass FlasK v.6/Premiere with Microsoft Media Encoder 8 (Dual Pass,RGB,YUY2,YV12), CCE v 2.62 (multi pass,RGB,YUY2), and Ligos(RGB) under NT4. Under NT4 it works perfectly. However you run into problems if the video server file is opened in the Media player running W98. Though CCE SP 2.62/Ligos encoders with W98 works on my machine. I assume that it will also work with W2000, but I did not test it yet. I am trying hard to solve the bug with W98 and the Media player. The people who have donated can request a preview of the video server avisynth YUV Multipass Flask (Just add request preview in the additional comments box when donating. It will be send within 2 days). The rest have to wait until the packet is released. Unfortunately this can take some time.
